Introduction to a Career in Law Enforcement - Spring 2018

Police departments all over Maine are offering sizable signing bonuses for new recruits. If you have an interest in becoming a police officer, this 12-hour class will provide you with all relevant information you need for you to pursue your goal. Topics will include ethics, philosophy, historical and modern-day police roles, discretion, decision-making, the media, the Police Academy, aptitude and physical tests and a general introduction to the field of law enforcement. The class is taught by veteran officer Linda Barker, who will bring in guest speakers from all areas of the profession. You will take your Alert test and Physical Fitness test during the class, giving you a head start in the application process. You will receive a certificate of completion that you can present to any police department when you apply for a position. The class is limited to 15 students, so enroll early. No class April 17th
